7-Position IDC Receptacle for Discrete Wire Harnesses
The black housing is free-hanging (in-line), so no board footprint is needed — it terminates a wire bundle directly.
This connector uses insulation displacement contacts (IDC), so you don't need a crimp press or loose terminals for the wire side. That saves a tooling changeover if your harness shop already runs IDC — no applicator reel to swap. The trade-off is that IDC is a one-shot termination; you can't re-terminate a pulled wire the way you can with a crimp terminal. Plan the wire routing before you seat the bundle.
The free-hanging design means the receptacle sits on the wire harness, not on a board — typical for internal appliance wiring, sensor harnesses, or control-cabinet discrete runs where you want a disconnect point at the wire end rather than a board-mounted header.
