Pin diameter and board fit for clinch-fit mounting
The 60824-1 is a non-insulated single post pin with a 0.058" (1.47mm) diameter above the flange, designed for a mounting hole diameter of 0.067" to 0.073" (1.70mm to 1.85mm). The clinch fit termination swages the pin into the plated through-hole, creating a solderless mechanical and electrical connection that resists vibration and thermal cycling. The board thickness spec is 0.062" (1.57mm) — the pin's below-flange length of 0.100" (2.54mm) is sized to protrude through and clinch on that standard PCB thickness. Overall length is 0.325" (8.26mm), with 0.160" (4.06mm) above the flange for mating with a socket or clip.
Material and finish for signal-level duty
Tin plating is suitable for environments without repeated insertion or corrosive gases; for frequent reconnection, a gold-plated alternative would be preferred.
