Vertical RJ45 Jack, 8P8C, Press-Fit Termination
It is designed for press-fit termination into a through-hole PCB, eliminating the need for soldering — a common choice for backplane or high-reliability assemblies where rework and clean board-side profiles matter. Rated for Cat5 signal performance, this jack supports 100BASE-TX Ethernet links and similar twisted-pair data rates up to 100 MHz.
Press-Fit Assembly and Board Layout
This avoids the thermal stress of wave or reflow soldering and simplifies rework — a defective jack can be pressed out and replaced without desoldering. The vertical orientation keeps the jack footprint compact on the board edge, with the RJ45 plug inserting perpendicular to the PCB surface.
Environmental Range and Compliance
The housing material is thermoplastic, and the part is unshielded — no metal shell for EMI containment, so the system-level shielding must come from the enclosure or a shielded cable/plug assembly. No LED is integrated into the jack; link-status indication requires an external LED on the board.
