The TE Connectivity 6116353-5 is a dual-port 8p8c (RJ45) modular jack, right-angle orientation, designed for Cat5 Ethernet applications. It carries a shielded shell with EMI fingers to contain radiated noise in data-com or industrial equipment. The dual green LED indicators per port give a visual link/activity readout without external test gear.
The shielded shell with EMI fingers bleeds common-mode noise from the cable shield to the chassis ground before it reaches the PCB traces. This is a practical advantage in high-EMI environments — PLC cabinets, motor drives, or switchgear rooms — where an unshielded jack would let coupled noise corrupt the link. The gold-plated contacts (50.0 µ" gold over phosphor bronze) resist corrosion and maintain contact resistance over repeated mates, a requirement for field-serviceable ports.
