Weld Tab Terminal for 16-20 AWG
The TE Connectivity 62153-1 is a crimp-style weld tab terminal designed for terminating 16-20 AWG wire. Unlike a standard ring or spade terminal, the weld tab is intended for direct welding to a busbar, battery cell, or other metallic surface — not for insertion into a connector housing. The crimp termination provides a gas-tight connection to the wire, while the flat tab gives a clean surface for resistance welding or ultrasonic bonding.
The 16-20 AWG range covers common power and ground wires in automotive, industrial, and energy storage assemblies. The crimp barrel is sized to accept the full strand bundle without cutting strands — use the manufacturer-recommended crimp tool for the correct die profile. The weld tab is flat and unplated on the weld face; the crimp barrel and tab are one continuous stamping, so the current path from wire to weld joint is uninterrupted.
