What This 3-Position IDC Receptacle Does on the Harness
The TE MTA-100 641239-3 is a 3-position, single-row IDC receptacle that terminates 26 AWG discrete or ribbon cable in one press operation. The locking ramp clicks on mate and holds against vibration; the closed-end design prevents the IDC slot from being stuffed with the wrong wire gauge.
This receptacle mates with any 0.025" square-pin header on 0.100" pitch — the standard MTA-100 header, or any unshrouded 0.100" header from TE or other manufacturers.
What the Gold Plating and Locking Ramp Mean for the Build
For a 3-position connector in a low-pin-count signal harness, the locking ramp is what keeps the connection alive when the cable gets snagged.
