Hybrid power/signal header for backplane and power distribution
The TE Connectivity 6450130-4 is a 31-position MULTI-BEAM XL header that carries a mixed contact layout: 24 signal pins and 7 power blades in a single 4-row housing. The mating guide ribs on the shroud align the receptacle during blind-mate assembly — without them the power blades can stub against the housing wall.
Board lock and mating guide — what they do in assembly
During wave solder, the clips hold the header flush against the board surface — no secondary hold-down fixture needed. After soldering, the board lock adds mechanical retention against the shear force from the mating cable or card. The mating guide is a chamfered shroud that steers the receptacle into alignment, protecting the power blades from bending during blind-mate assembly in a card cage or backplane.
