It's the female half of the connection — mates into the corresponding Multimate III+ pin contact inside a housing.
Crimp Termination and Tooling
The stamped brass body forms a gas-tight connection around the conductor strands when the crimp is set right. For production runs, the Tape & Reel packaging feeds into an automatic crimp press; Cut Tape works for smaller bench builds.
Comparison to 66104-5
The 66104-4 and 66104-5 are both stamped socket contacts in the Multimate III+ series, same crimp termination and 20-24 AWG wire range. The key difference is the contact finish thickness: the 66104-4 carries 30.0µin (0.76µm) gold, while the 66104-5 is typically tin-plated. For high-vibration or repeated-mating applications, the gold 66104-4 holds up longer against fretting corrosion.
