Crimp termination means you can re-pin this contact on site with a standard crimp tool and a pin extraction tool. No soldering iron, no waiting for a pre-made harness. If a pin backs out or the wire breaks at the crimp barrel on a Friday afternoon, you cut, strip, and crimp a fresh 66106-3 into the housing — the machine is back up before the shift ends. The stamped brass body gives consistent crimp force across the 24-26 AWG range; the gold finish doesn't flake at the crimp zone.
The 66106-3 pin drops into any Multimate III+ receptacle housing that accepts stamped pin contacts. It's the same series as the 66106-1 and 66106-2 — the difference is wire gauge accommodation, not housing fit. The 24-26 AWG range is narrower than the 20-24 AWG of the 66106-1, so if your harness uses 22 AWG, the 66106-1 is the better pick. If you're on 24 or 26 AWG signal wires, this is the one. No adapter, no housing swap needed.
