The Gold Plating Decision
The 15.0µin gold over brass is the feature that separates this pin from a tin-plated alternative. The brass substrate is standard for stamped contacts in this class — good formability and adequate spring properties for the crimp barrel.
Rated for 20-24 AWG stranded wire. The crimp barrel is sized to accept the full conductor bundle within that range; the insulation support crimp closes over the jacket. This is a standard stamped contact — you crimp it with a hand tool or a semi-automatic press using the appropriate Multimate die set. The contact then inserts into the housing cavity and locks with a lance. No soldering, no screw terminals — just a clean crimp that, if done right, is the most reliable termination for vibration environments.
