Contact identity and series fit
As a stamped rather than machined contact, the barrel geometry is optimized for high-volume crimp tooling; the crimp height window and pull-force spec are published in the series application tooling documentation.
The 26-30 AWG wire range means this contact is sized for signal conductors, not power circuits. Section a sample crimp at the specified height and you should see full strand capture across the barrel width — any gap means the wrong die or an undersized wire.
Housing compatibility and sourcing
The 66428-4 socket mates into any Multimate III+ receptacle housing that accepts a stamped socket contact of this series. The Multimate III+ family includes a range of cavity configurations — the contact itself is not keyed, so housing polarization and CPA features are handled by the housing, not the terminal.
