Multimate III+ Stamped Socket Contact for 20-24 AWG
This is the socket half of the mating pair — it fits into the corresponding Multimate III+ housing cavity and mates with a pin contact of the same series.
Gold over brass gives stable contact resistance through the life of the connection.
The crimp termination accepts 20-24 AWG stranded wire, covering the most common sizes for signal and moderate-power circuits in a harness. The stamped contact design uses a crimp barrel that deforms around the conductor and insulation, giving a gas-tight connection when the correct tooling is used. For the harness builder, the 20-24 AWG range means this contact fits into standard wire bundles without requiring a change in wire gauge for the circuit.
Comparison with Same-Series Peers
The 66563-4 shares the same Multimate III+ series, wire range (20-24 AWG), gold plating (30.0µin), and crimp termination as the 66563-8, 66331-2, and 66104-4. All are stamped socket contacts with identical electrical and mechanical specifications. The difference between these order codes is in the packaging reel configuration or the manufacturing lot — not in the functional fit. For a BOM line, any of these four can be used interchangeably as long as the packaging format (Tape & Reel vs Cut Tape) matches the assembly process.
