This contact accepts 16-18 AWG stranded or solid wire. The crimp termination requires a tool matched to the Multimate VI contact geometry — using the wrong die can deform the barrel or reduce pull-out force. Tin-plated contacts are compatible with standard crimp tooling; no special plating handling is needed. Confirm the wire strip length per the TE application drawing to ensure the conductor fully seats in the crimp barrel and the insulation is clear of the contact body.
