Multimate VI Stamped Socket Contact
This is the female (socket) member of the contact pair, accepting 18-22 AWG wire and terminated by crimp — no solder, no special tooling beyond the correct crimp die.
The brass base material keeps the contact cost-effective for signal-level circuits where current draw stays under a few amps per contact. For a harness builder, this means the contact is a good fit for a signal line that sees occasional disconnect, not a daily-cycle hot-swap power line.
The 18-22 AWG wire range covers the most common signal and low-power conductor sizes in a control cabinet or backplane harness. Crimp termination with the appropriate TE tool (such as the CERTI-CRIMP series) gives a gas-tight connection that meets the pull-force requirements of MIL-DTL-38999 style contacts. No secondary solder operation is needed — the crimp barrel grips the conductor insulation and the stripped wire in one stroke.
