The stamped construction keeps per-unit cost lower than a machined contact while still fitting the standard Multimate VI cavity.
Wire range and termination
This contact accepts 16-18 AWG stranded wire with a standard crimp tool. The stamped body and brass base give consistent crimp retention across the wire range.
Housing compatibility
The 66589-4 mates with any Multimate VI receptacle housing that accepts a stamped pin contact. The series uses a common cavity geometry, so this terminal inserts into single- or multi-row housings across the family. Gold-to-gold contact interface with the mating socket maintains low and stable resistance through the service life.
