Rated for 14-18 AWG stranded wire, this socket uses a standard crimp barrel. The wire range covers the common power and signal gauges in panel wiring — 14 AWG for moderate current runs, 18 AWG for lighter signal circuits. The crimp termination is field-reliable with a proper tool; you should hear the locking tang seat into the housing cavity. If it backs out, it's scrap — the tin-lead finish helps the contact hold its spring force over time.
