It accepts 14-18 AWG wire and terminates with a standard crimp tool — no solder, no special prep. This is the socket half, so it loads into the receptacle housing side of the mating pair.
Wire gauge and termination — the fit check
The 14-18 AWG range covers the common power and signal wire sizes you'd run through a Multimate III+ housing. The 50.0µin tin finish on the contact surface handles the current without the fretting concerns you'd get with a thinner flash in a high-vibration environment. Tin is the right call here: it cold-welds under crimp pressure for a gas-tight connection, and the heavy thickness gives the contact a long service life in a single-mate installation.
