8-Circuit Barrier Block, 0.375" Pitch, Rated 25 A — the Workhorse for Panel Wiring
The TE Connectivity Buchanan 6PCR-08-008 is an 8-circuit barrier strip from the #6 series, built for power distribution in control panels, HVAC equipment, and industrial machinery. Each circuit is rated 25 A — enough for motor contactor coils, heater loads, or power supply outputs without derating at the 105°C operating limit. Termination uses screws with captive plates — the plate stays under the screw head, so it won't drop out during field wiring. The tri-barrier (3 Wall) design isolates each circuit from its neighbor, which matters when you're probing live terminals or running mixed voltages on adjacent positions.
Wire Range and Termination — 12-22 AWG, Screw Clamp with Captive Plate
The 6PCR-08-008 accepts 12-22 AWG stranded or solid wire. The captive plate under the screw head distributes clamping force across the conductor — less risk of nicking strands compared to a bare screw point. Bottom termination is PC pin, so the block mounts through the panel and solders to a PCB or connects via a mating socket. The zinc clear chromate steel screws resist corrosion in humid cabinet environments. Eight wire entries match the eight circuits — one wire per position. The flange on each end provides a mounting hole for chassis or panel attachment, keeping the block rigid during wire insertion and removal.
