The 25A Barrier Block That Doesn't Need a Second Look
The TE Connectivity 6PCV-03-008 is a 3-circuit barrier strip from the Buchanan #6 series, built for power distribution and control wiring where 25A per circuit is the working load — not a surge rating. The 0.375" (9.53mm) pitch gives enough terminal-to-terminal creepage for the 300V rating without squeezing the wire entry. Three-wall (Tri) barriers between each position keep stripped conductors from shorting across adjacent terminals, which is the failure you see when someone stuffs a 12 AWG into a cheap open-frame strip and the strands fan out. Top termination uses screws with captive plate — the plate stays under the screw head so it doesn't drop into the chassis when you loosen it for re-termination. Bottom termination is PC pin, meaning the strip solders directly into a PCB. The flange at each end lets you bolt it to a panel or chassis for mechanical support, which matters when the wiring harness is heavy or the enclosure sees vibration. Wire range is 12-22 AWG, covering the most common power and control conductors in industrial panels. Operating temperature is 105°C, which gives headroom in a warm cabinet.
Where the 25A Rating Actually Bites
The 25A per circuit rating is the whole story here — this block is sized for branch-circuit power, not signal-level currents. At 25A continuous, the screw-and-captive-plate termination clamps the wire without cold flow, and the PC pin solder joint to the board must handle that current without becoming a fuse. The 0.375" pitch means the PCB footprint is wider than a 0.200" or 0.250" pitch block, so confirm the board real estate before layout.
