PCI Express x16 Edge Connector for Motherboard Slots
The TE Connectivity 7-1734774-1 is a 98-position female edge connector designed for PCI Express card slots. The through-hole termination with staggered solder tails provides mechanical retention through wave solder, while the board guide and locking ramp on the housing keep the card seated under shock and vibration.
The 30.0 µinch gold plating on the cantilever contacts is thicker than the flash plating found on low-cycle connectors. This supports repeated card insertions without exposing the base phosphor bronze to oxidation — relevant for test fixtures, add-in cards that get swapped, or any assembly where the connector sees more than a handful of mates over its life. The tin-plated phosphor bronze on the solder tails is standard for wave-solder wetting and does not affect the mating interface.
