0.100" Pitch Edge Connector for Standard PCBs
The dual-row readout doubles the contact density per edge, so 12 positions give you 24 independent signal paths off a single board edge. The housing is a glass-filled polyester rated to UL94 V-0, black, and accepts a PCB thickness between 0.054" and 0.070" (1.37mm to 1.78mm). That range covers standard 1.6mm (0.062") boards with margin for common solder mask and plating buildup. The through-hole solder termination holds the connector rigid on the motherboard — no press-fit or surface-mount reflow process needed.
Card Thickness and Fit
The single most common fit issue with edge connectors is board thickness. This 7-5530843-5 accepts a card thickness of 0.054" to 0.070" (1.37mm to 1.78mm). A standard 1.6mm (0.062") PCB with 1oz copper and typical solder mask lands right in the middle of that range. If your board is 0.093" (2.36mm) or a thin flex, this connector will not grip it properly — the contact beam pressure is tuned for the stated range.
