Crimp pin for AMPLIMITE HDP-20 D-sub housings
This is the crimp terminal that goes into the housing cavity — not the housing itself. It accepts 18-22 AWG wire and terminates by crimping with the appropriate tooling.
Gold plating thickness drives the duty
Standard AMPLIMITE HDP-20 contacts often carry a thinner flash; this thickness supports more mating cycles without exposing the brass base metal. If the harness sees frequent disconnect-reconnect, or lives in a mildly corrosive environment, this contact holds its contact resistance longer than a tin-plated or thin-gold alternative in the same series.
Rated for 18-22 AWG stranded wire. The stamped barrel accepts the stripped conductor and insulation crimp wings in one die stroke. Use the TE-certified crimp tool (typically a hand-crimp frame with the HDP-20 die set) to get the specified pull-force and avoid over-crimping the barrel. The contact is keyed by its geometry to only insert one way into the housing cavity — the pin retention tang locks into the housing window.
