What This Latch Block Does
The TE Connectivity AMPLIMITE 747080-2 is a rear-mount latch block accessory for standard-density D-sub connectors. It secures the cable-side backshell to the connector body after termination, preventing the shell from backing off under cable strain or vibration. The two-piece design clamps around the cable exit and locks into the connector's rear face. This latch block fits D-sub shell sizes from 9 to 37 positions, covering the full range of standard AMPLIMITE housings. It is specified for use with the AMPLIMITE Series HDE, HDF, and HDP connectors — the most common industrial and commercial D-sub families from TE.
Because it spans 9 through 37 positions, a single 747080-2 part number covers multiple shell sizes. The same latch block works on a DB9, DB15, DB25, or DB37 housing, simplifying inventory for shops that build multiple D-sub cable assemblies.
