The TE Connectivity AMPLIMITE HD-20 747150-8 is a 9-position D-sub receptacle with female sockets arranged in two rows, terminated by through-hole solder to the PCB. The shell size is DE (E), the standard layout for a 9-position D-sub — the same footprint used on RS-232 serial ports and industrial I/O interfaces. The housing is black polyester rated UL94 V-0, and the steel shell carries a tin-plated finish for basic EMI shielding when mated with a conductive backshell.
The current rating is 6 A per contact at the rated voltage of 125 V. For power duty above a few amps per circuit, derate per the temperature rise curve in the product drawing.
Mounting and Flange Hardware
The receptacle mounts vertically through the PCB with solder tails. The flange features threaded inserts for 4-40 jackscrews — the standard D-sub locking mechanism that holds the mating plug secure against vibration. Without those jackscrews tightened, the connector pair relies on friction alone, and friction alone won't hold the road buzz in an industrial cabinet.
