Right-Angle D-Sub Receptacle for Board-Edge I/O
This is the female side of a standard DE-9 (E shell size) interface, designed to mate with the matching 9-position D-Sub plug. This connector is suited for industrial control interfaces, test equipment, and serial communication ports where a reliable, field-serviceable D-Sub connection is required.
The right-angle through-hole footprint places the solder tails on a standard 0.318" (8.08 mm) backset spacing from the panel face. The 4-40 threaded insert on the housing flange accepts standard D-Sub jackscrews for mating retention. The right-angle body extends behind the board edge; verify clearance to adjacent components and the enclosure wall. The board locks add two extra plated holes to the footprint — confirm they are in the PCB layout.
Ratings and Contact System
For higher cycle counts, a thicker gold plating variant would be preferred, but for a fixed harness that mates once at installation, flash is adequate. The signal contacts are arranged in two rows within the E shell layout. The steel shell with tin plating provides the ground path and shields the signal pair from external EMI.
Note on compliance: this part is listed as RoHS non-compliant. If your bill of materials requires RoHS exemption documentation or a fully compliant alternative, verify the exemption category or consider the RoHS-compliant variants in the AMPLIMITE HD-20 series.
