40-position SCA-2 receptacle with 30.0 µ" gold — the density and plating decide the fit
The TE Connectivity CHAMP.050 I 787317-4 is a 40-position SCA-2 receptacle with outer shroud contacts, arranged in two rows for a through-hole solder mount. The 0.050-inch pitch packs enough I/O for a parallel SCSI or high-density signal interface without consuming excessive board edge. Board guide and board lock features align the connector during solder and hold it against vibration after reflow.
This is a receptacle — it mates with the SCA-2 plug half from the same CHAMP.050 I series. Termination is solder through-hole, so the board gets a mechanical anchor beyond the pin-in-paste joint. The board lock and guide posts take the shear off the solder joints during cable insertion and extraction, which matters when the cable bundle is stiff or the connector is at the card edge.
