The TE Connectivity 796379-2 is a backshell and cable clamp assembly for the CPC (Circular Plastic Connector) series, shell size 11. The kit includes five pieces: a two-piece cable clamp, one flat ring, and two screws — everything needed to secure the cable jacket and terminate the shield or braid if used.
Thread Fit and Cable Opening — the Two Non-Negotiables
Two dimensions decide whether this backshell fits your assembly. The thread is 5/8-24 UNEF — a UNEF (Unified Extra Fine) thread that mates with the corresponding thread on the back of a CPC shell size 11 connector body. The cable opening is 0.329" (8.36 mm) in diameter, which sets the maximum cable jacket that can pass through the clamp. If your cable jacket is larger than 0.329", the clamp halves will not close fully and the strain relief will not grip. The 90° exit means the cable turns at a right angle immediately after the connector, which is useful when the connector is mounted on a panel and the cable must run along the panel surface.
