The TE Connectivity 796381-2 is a size 17 backshell and cable clamp for the CPC connector family. It takes a 90° cable exit, so the cable turns at a right angle right out of the connector — useful when the panel depth or enclosure wall forces a bend immediately behind the mating face. The thread is 15/16-20 UNEF, which is the standard coupling nut thread for CPC size 17 inserts. The cable opening measures 0.453" (11.51 mm), giving clearance for a cable bundle up to that diameter.
What Comes in the Box — and What It Connects To
The 796381-2 ships as a kit: three pieces that form the cable clamp plus two screws to fasten it. That is the whole assembly — no separate hardware to chase down. It is designed for use with CPC connectors, TE's circular plastic connector series. The size 17 designation matches the shell size of the mating CPC plug or receptacle. The clamp screws let you cinch the clamp down on the cable jacket for strain relief, keeping the pull-off force off the contacts inside the connector.
