UL 15 A / 300 V – industrial power rating with thermal margin
The 15 A current rating at 300 V UL is the maximum per-contact limit under the stated conditions. The tin-plated copper alloy contacts are rated for this current with the housing temperature rise staying within the UL94 V-0 polyamide 6/6 material limit. In practice, operating at 80% of rated current (12 A) provides margin for ambient temperature up to 110°C and continuous duty. The -40°C to 110°C operating range covers outdoor telecom cabinets and unheated industrial enclosures. The UL94 V-0 flammability rating is required for equipment inside enclosures where the connector is a potential ignition source.
