What This 4-Position Terminal Block Does on the Board

Wire Termination and Torque — What the Clamp Needs
The rising cage clamp accepts wire from 12 AWG down to 30 AWG — an unusually wide range for a single terminal block. A 12 AWG stranded conductor carries the full 17.5 A with margin; a 30 AWG signal wire is held securely by the same clamp, though the current should be derated for the smaller conductor. Mounting and Orientation — Where It Sits on the Board
This is a through-hole mount block with a horizontal mating orientation — the wire entry is parallel to the PCB surface (side entry). The 4 positions are arranged in a single level. The 5.00 mm pitch determines the board footprint: four holes on 5.00 mm centres, plus any mounting peg or stabilisation pin holes per the product drawing. No board lock or additional retention feature is listed; the through-hole solder joints provide the mechanical anchor. For high-vibration environments, an additional adhesive or mechanical support may be needed — the screw clamp itself resists vibration loosening better than a spring clamp, but the board-level attachment is only the solder joints.
