The 796690-5: This is a 5-position, single-level terminal block on a 5.00 mm pitch, rated 17.5 A at 300 V. It accepts 12-30 AWG wire through a screw-driven rising cage clamp — the clamp lifts as the screw tightens, pulling the wire into the cage without crushing it. The green polyamide housing (PA66, Nylon 6/6) is the standard Buchanan colour.
Side-interlocking for multi-block assemblies
The housing includes side-interlocking features, so multiple 5-position blocks snap together side-by-side to build longer terminal strips without extra brackets or jumpers. The 35° (145°) mating orientation angles the wire entry relative to the PCB — useful when the enclosure lid or adjacent components limit straight-in access.
