The TE Connectivity Buchanan 796692-4 is a 4-position PCB terminal block with a 0.200" (5.08mm) pitch, designed for horizontal wire entry relative to the board. It uses a rising cage clamp termination — turning the M3 screw draws the clamp up against the wire, creating a gas-tight connection that handles 17.5 A per position at 300 V. The green polyamide housing carries two levels of terminals (4 positions per level), and the side interlocking feature lets you snap multiple blocks together into a continuous strip without losing pitch alignment. This is a through-hole mount part, so it solders directly into the PCB and stays put through reflow or wave solder.
The 17.5 A rating is per position at the rated voltage — that's enough for a small motor drive, a power supply output, or a bank of industrial sensors. The wire range of 12-30 AWG covers everything from heavy power feeds (12 AWG) down to signal-level wiring (30 AWG), so one block can handle mixed-gauge connections in a control cabinet. The M3 screw torque spec of 0.79 Nm (7.0 Lb-In) is firm enough to crush the wire strands into a solid mass under the clamp, but not so high that you risk stripping the brass screw.
