7.62mm pitch vertical shrouded header for terminal block systems
The 796980-8 is an 8-position, single-level shrouded header from TE Connectivity's Buchanan series, designed to mate with Buchanan pluggable terminal blocks. The 0.300" (7.62mm) pitch sets the PCB footprint and the per-circuit spacing for 15 A at 300 V UL.
The 15 A current rating at 300 V UL is the maximum per-circuit continuous current under the stated conditions. In a 110°C ambient, derate per the UL current-temperature curve; the 7.62mm pitch provides enough creepage distance for 300 V in pollution degree 2 environments. The vertical through-hole orientation and 0.138" (3.50mm) solder tail length suit standard PCB thicknesses. The header stands 0.472" (12.00mm) above the board, leaving clearance for the mating plug and wire exit.
