10-Position Micro-MaTch DIP Header for IDC Ribbon Cable
The housing is red, and the contacts are tin-plated. Press-fit through-hole mounting eliminates soldering, making it suitable for high-reliability backplane or rework-friendly applications where solderless assembly is preferred.
IDC Termination and Press-Fit Mounting
Termination is via IDC (insulation displacement contact) — the ribbon cable is pressed onto the fork contacts, displacing the insulation to make connection without stripping or crimping individual wires. This combination suits high-volume harness assembly and field repair: the IDC tooling is standard for 28 AWG ribbon, and the press-fit pins can be replaced if a contact is damaged.
