Press-fit termination and board fit
Press-fit termination avoids solder and the associated thermal stress, making this pin suitable for backplane assemblies or high-reliability boards where rework is a concern. The mounting hole diameter must be held to 0.036" to 0.038" (0.91mm to 0.97mm) for proper press-fit retention — the board fab tolerance is critical here. Overall length is 0.443" (11.25mm), with the post extending equally above and below the flange for through-board connections.
