DE-9 Receptacle, Right-Angle Solder — Board-Edge Fit
The TE Connectivity AMPLIMITE HD-20 9-1393480-9 is a 9-position D-sub receptacle in the standard DE-9 (E-size) shell layout. It mates with any DE-9 plug — the common RS-232 serial port connector found on industrial controllers, test equipment, and legacy PC I/O. The gold thickness here is the same spec used on the HD-20's higher-cycle variants. Current rating is 2.2A per contact. That's typical for a signal-contact D-sub.
Mounting and Retention — What Holds It in Place
Two mechanical retention features work together. On the mating side, a female 4-40 screwlock flange accepts the jack screws from the mating plug. The backset spacing is 0.371" (9.43mm) — that's the distance from the PCB mounting surface to the front face of the shell. It determines how far the connector body sits behind the board edge, which matters when you're fitting a metal bracket or panel cutout behind the PCB. Shell is steel with tin plating — provides the ground path and shields the signal pins. The tin finish is standard for this class; it's compatible with the grounding indents on the mating plug shell.
Sourcing and Cross-Reference
The difference is in the packaging lot code; electrically and mechanically they're interchangeable. If you're cross-referencing a dead part on a machine, either one bolts in. ROHS3 compliant — no restricted substances in the plating or housing material.
