Barrier Block for Panel-Mount Power Distribution
The Buchanan JC6-Q308-02 is a 2-circuit barrier strip from the JC6 series, designed for chassis or panel-mounted power distribution. It carries a 20 A per circuit rating at 300 V, with a 0.375" (9.53 mm) pitch that provides enough spacing to handle the voltage without requiring an oversized panel cutout. The dual-wall barrier (2 Wall) physically separates adjacent terminals, reducing the risk of accidental shorting between circuits during wiring or service. Termination is via screws with captive plates on top, and a 0.250" quick-connect tab on the bottom — a hybrid that lets you wire the field side with a screwdriver and pre-terminate the panel side with push-on receptacles. Wire acceptance spans 12-22 AWG, covering common power and control conductors.
Wiring and Mounting
Mounting is chassis or panel-mount via the integral flange — no DIN rail adapter, so plan for screw-fixing to a backplate or enclosure wall. The single-row layout keeps wiring tidy for a 2-circuit run; each of the two wire entries accepts one conductor. The 0.250" quick-connect tab is insulated, meaning the exposed metal is shrouded by the housing — a detail that matters when the block is mounted in a crowded panel where a dropped tool could otherwise bridge live terminals. The captive plate under the screw head prevents the plate from falling out during wiring, saving time on repetitive terminations.
