M8 A-Coded Plug for Sealed Industrial Links
The gold layer is enough for routine mating cycles in a sealed installation — the limiting factor for cycle life in this class is usually the O-ring seal wear, not the contact finish. The A-coding orientation keys the interface so an A-coded plug only mates with an A-coded receptacle, preventing cross-mating with B-, D-, or X-coded M8 ports on the same panel.
Termination is solder cup — the three male pins are pre-loaded in the insert and ready for hand-soldering of 20-26 AWG stranded or solid wire. The threaded fastening ring on the plug body mates with the receptacle and locks with a simple hand-tight turn — no torque wrench needed, but the joint should be snug enough to compress the face seal without over-stressing the threads.
