M8-4 male plug, IP67, 3 A — the sensor/actuator interconnect that seals at the panel
The M8-4 shell size mates with the standard M8 female receptacle — the threaded coupling ring pulls the pair together and the panel O-ring seals the bulkhead pass-through to IP67, dust-tight and waterproof when mated. Rated 3 A per contact at 30 V, with gold-plated mating surfaces at 3.00 µin (0.076 µm) thickness, this plug handles the signal and low-power circuits common to proximity sensors, solenoid valves, and fieldbus drops.
The 4-position count and M8-4 shell size are the first fit check — this plug mates only with a 4-contact M8 female receptacle. The 30 V rating suits the 24 VDC supply rails common in industrial controls. The IP67 seal is the main event — the threaded coupling and panel O-ring keep washdown water and dust out of the junction box, which is why this connector shows up on conveyor line sensors and packaging equipment. The gold mating finish at 3.00 µin is thin but adequate for the moderate mating cycles a field-installed sensor sees — it prevents fretting corrosion in the vibration environment of a machine tool.
This plug mounts through a panel bulkhead — the threaded body passes through the cutout and the nut clamps the connector to the panel face. The solder termination means the cable leads are soldered directly to the contact pins inside the shell, not crimped. The board lock feature on the PCB-mount version of this series holds the connector to the board during reflow, but for this panel-mount variant the threaded nut takes the strain. The shielded shell (copper alloy with nickel finish) bleeds EMI to the panel ground when the mating receptacle is also shielded.
