M12 A-Coded Field-Attachable Plug
It comes as a complete assembly with the backshell and coupling nut included — no separate parts to source for the cable exit. The nickel-plated brass shell and the gold-over-bronze contacts (3.00µin gold mating finish) give it corrosion resistance for repeated mating in damp cabinet or washdown environments. Rated 4A per contact at 60V, with an IP67 seal when mated against the corresponding A-coded receptacle. The screw termination accepts conductors through a cable opening of 4.00mm to 6.00mm, which covers most common sensor cables with a 4-6mm jacket diameter.
Sealing and Field Assembly
For the seal to hold, the cable jacket must fill the backshell opening without gaps; the 4.00mm to 6.00mm range gives a working window for common 4-conductor sensor cables with a 5mm nominal OD. The threaded coupling nut (M12 x 1.0) should be torqued to the manufacturer's recommended value to compress the O-ring without over-stressing the PA insert. Screw termination means no crimp tool is needed — strip the conductors, insert into the screw cage, and tighten. The backshell material is glass-filled PBT, which holds the cable clamp without cracking under the screw-down force.
A-Coding and Compatibility
The A-coded keying (per IEC 61076-2-101) is the standard for DeviceNet, IO-Link, and most DC-powered sensors. A-coded plugs mate only with A-coded receptacles — a B-, D-, or X-coded jack will not engage. The 5-position layout follows the standard pin assignment: pin 1 = brown (+), pin 2 = white (not used in 3-wire sensors), pin 3 = blue (-), pin 4 = black (signal), pin 5 = grey (optional second signal or shield).
