B-Coding and Pinout — Mating Compatibility
The B-coded keyway (orientation B) ensures this plug mates only with a B-coded M12 receptacle, preventing cross-mating with A-, D-, or X-coded connectors common in sensor and Ethernet networks. The 5-position pinout follows the M12-5 B-coding standard; confirm the receptacle pin assignment matches your circuit count before committing the BOM line.
Shielding and Environmental Sealing
The shielded construction, with a nickel-plated brass shell and backshell, provides continuous EMI protection through the mated pair — critical in industrial environments with motor drives or switching power supplies nearby.
Cable Range and Termination
The cable opening accepts cables from 0.157" to 0.236" (4.00mm to 6.00mm) in diameter. Screw termination allows field assembly without special tooling — strip the wires, insert into the screw clamp, and torque to spec.
