M12 A-Coded Plug for Industrial Cable Assemblies
The T4112001051-000 is an M12 A-coded plug with 5 female socket contacts, designed for field-terminated or harness-built cable assemblies in industrial automation, sensor networks, and control cabinets. The threaded coupling nut and IP67 seal mean this connector is rated dust-tight and waterproof — but only when fully mated and the nut torqued to the manufacturer's specification. An unmated half loses the seal; cap the open connector if the panel sits in a washdown zone between shifts. Screw terminals accept the stripped conductor directly — no crimp tool needed for field termination, though the wire gauge must fit within the 4.00mm to 6.00mm cable opening of the backshell. The right-angle body exits the cable at 90° to the mating axis, which helps route the harness tight to a panel or junction box.
What the IP67 and 4A Rating Mean for the Installation
IP67 means the mated connector survives immersion in 1 metre of water for 30 minutes — fine for a sensor on a washdown line or an outdoor cabinet in heavy rain, but not for continuous submersion or hot-water pressure wash. The seal relies on the O-ring at the mating face and the compression of the cable gland; if the cable jacket is undersized or the gland nut loose, the rating drops to zero. The polyamide insert and PBT backshell hold up to the thermal cycling without embrittlement at the cold end or creep at the hot end.
Mates with any M12 A-coded female receptacle or male cordset of the same shell size — the A-coding prevents cross-mating with B-, D-, or X-coded M12 connectors, which is the whole point of the keying. Threaded coupling: tighten the knurled nut finger-tight plus a quarter turn with a wrench for the IP67 seal; over-torquing cracks the nylon insert. Screw termination: strip the wire to the length specified in the manufacturer's instruction sheet (typically 6-8mm), insert into the clamp, and tighten.
