M12 D-Coded Plug for Industrial Fieldbus Networks
The D-coding aligns with Profibus, DeviceNet, and Ethernet/IP fieldbus standards, ensuring correct mating with D-coded receptacles and preventing cross-mating with A-, B-, or L-coded connectors. Rated 4A per contact at 250V, it suits sensor and actuator power circuits in factory-floor environments. The IP67 rating applies only when the threaded coupling ring is fully torqued against the mating receptacle — the O-ring seal at the panel face and the gasket between halves keep washdown and condensation out of the connection.
The nickel-plated copper alloy shell and polyamide (PA66) insert resist common industrial fluids, though the gasket material (not separately specified) should be verified against aggressive washdown chemistries. For the unmated panel half, a protective cap is recommended to keep debris out of the socket cavity.
Termination and Assembly
Solder cup termination means the installer strips, tins, and solders each wire into the cup — no crimp tool, no die. The 2-position layout keeps soldering straightforward, but the cup diameter should be checked against the wire gauge for a reliable fillet. The bulkhead mounting feature with a rear side nut secures the connector to the panel from behind, allowing the mating plug to be tightened from the front.
