M12 A-Coded 3-Pin Female Plug, 4 A, IP67 — Panel Mount with Right-Angle Solder Tails
It combines a threaded coupling for vibration-resistant mating with an IP67-rated seal when paired with the matching male cordset, making it suitable for washdown and dusty environments. The right-angle solder termination and panel-mount bulkhead feature let it exit a board edge while sealing the enclosure opening.
Mounting and Termination Detail
This plug mounts through a panel hole with a rear-side nut (bulkhead style) and solders to a PCB at a right angle. The board guide and board lock features help align and retain the connector during reflow and assembly, taking shear off the solder joints when the threaded coupling is torqued. The threaded fastening gives a positive mechanical lock that resists loosening under machine vibration.
This female plug mates with any standard M12 A-coded male connector (cordset or panel-mount) of the same 3-position layout. The A-coding ensures it will not mate with B-, D-, or X-coded M12 connectors, preventing wiring errors on mixed-protocol networks. The IP67 seal is achieved only when mated with a matching IP67-rated male connector. The shell size M12-3 and 3-position contact arrangement are the most common for discrete sensor/actuator signals (e.g., 3-wire PNP/NPN sensors). Standard M12 field-attachable or overmolded cordsets with A-coding and 3 pins will mate directly.
