A-Coding vs D-Coding — What Fits
The A-coding on this plug is the standard pinout for DC power and sensor signals in the M12 ecosystem. A D-coded M12 uses a different keyway position — an A-coded plug will not enter a D-coded receptacle.
Mounting and Sealing in the Panel
This plug mounts through a bulkhead hole and secures with a rear-side nut — the threaded coupling and panel nut are both metal (copper alloy shell, nickel finish), so the ground path from the cable shield to the panel is continuous when the nut is torqued. The right-angle orientation means the solder tails exit 90° from the panel face, which keeps the PCB or cable assembly flush against the mounting surface.
