What This Backshell Does for the Harness
The TE Connectivity M902-2192 is a 180° backshell for the HD10 series of circular connectors, Shell Size 9. It clamps onto the cable jacket after the connector is terminated, providing strain relief and sealing the rear of the connector assembly. The cable opening range of 0.300" ~ 0.430" (7.62mm ~ 10.92mm) covers common multi-conductor cable diameters for industrial and vehicle-grade harnesses. The housing is moulded from a blend of polycarbonate (PC) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), rated UL94 V-0.
Cable Fit and Strain Relief
The 0.300" ~ 0.430" cable opening accepts jacketed cables from roughly 7.6 mm to 10.9 mm OD. That covers common 4- to 6-conductor power and signal cables used with HD10 connectors. This backshell is unshielded. If the application requires EMI/RFI protection at the connector-cable junction, a shielded backshell variant from the HD10 family would be the correct choice.
Compatibility and Sourcing
The M902-2192 is designed for use with TE Connectivity HD10 series connectors in Shell Size 9. It fits the rear of the plug or receptacle housing after the contacts are crimped and inserted. No adapter or additional seal is needed — the backshell's own gland compresses onto the cable jacket to achieve the IP67 seal.
