The threaded fastening type locks the mated pair against vibration — a standard requirement for outdoor antenna feeds, tower-mounted radios, and industrial machinery where a bayonet or snap-on connector would work loose. The bulkhead mount with a rear-side nut secures the jack to the panel face, and the shield termination is solder, so the ground path through the shell is continuous. The extended insulation feature adds creepage distance between the center conductor and the body, supporting the 500 V rating for applications where the RF line carries a DC bias or where high-voltage isolation is needed.
Solder Cup Termination — Field Termination Without a Crimp Tool
The contact termination is a solder cup, not a crimp barrel. That means you terminate the center conductor and shield by soldering directly to the cup and the body — no special crimp tool or die set required. The trade-off is that termination quality depends on soldering skill and the right flux for the coaxial cable dielectric. The dielectric material is polyoxymethylene (POM) acetal, which holds its RF properties through the soldering heat cycle and does not cold-flow under the compression of a cable clamp.
