The 142178-75 is an SMB mini plug with a 75 Ohm impedance — a snap-on, subminiature RF connector built for RG-179 and RG-187 cable. This is the female socket version, free-hanging, terminated by soldering the centre contact and crimping the shield. The 75 Ohm variant is less common than the 50 Ohm SMB; it's used where the cable plant is already 75 Ohm — think video distribution, broadcast gear, or test equipment that runs on RG-179 or RG-187.
This plug accepts RG-179 and RG-187 coax — both 75 Ohm, 2.5 mm to 3 mm diameter cables with a solid or stranded centre conductor. The included heat shrink goes over the ferrule-to-cable transition for strain relief and environmental sealing.
What the ratings tell you about the duty
The 335 V rating is the max working voltage at sea level; at higher altitudes or in low-pressure environments, derate it.
