Sizing the Board Footprint for This 1.27mm Header
The 20021121-00008T1LF: Eight circuits in two rows on a 0.050" (1.27mm) pitch — the row spacing is also 0.050" (1.27mm). This sets the PCB land pattern: 0.050" between adjacent pins in a row and 0.050" between rows. The unshrouded male pins (square, 0.120" mating length) mate with a standard 1.27mm IDC receptacle or a shrouded header from the same Minitek127® family. Surface-mount termination (SMT) means the header is placed by pick-and-place and reflow-soldered — no wave-solder step.
Current Ceiling and Contact Finish Trade-Off
The 1 A ceiling is typical for fine-pitch signal headers — the narrow pin cross-section and housing thermal limits set the practical current, not the copper-alloy contact material. Derate above 25°C ambient per the series derating curve. Gold flash provides corrosion resistance for occasional mating but wears faster than a plated gold layer.
