The Amphenol 3FA1-NASJ-C04W6 is a Code A SMB Fakra jack — a female socket in the Fakra connector family, which brings the SMB interface into a latch-locked, color-coded housing for automotive and commercial-vehicle RF applications. The Code A keying (one of the standard Fakra coding positions) prevents cross-mating with other signal types on the same harness bundle. The jack accepts RG-58, 58A, 58B, 58C, 141, 303, LMR-195, Belden B7806A, and 9907 cables — a broad cable-group match that covers common 50 Ohm coax from thin-profile RG-58 to low-loss LMR-195. The crimp termination for both center contact and shield keeps the assembly repeatable in a harness shop without soldering. Rated for 100 mating cycles, the latch-lock fastening holds the pair engaged under vehicle vibration, and the zinc die-cast body with tin finish provides the RF shielding the Fakra interface is specified for.
Cable Selection and Crimp Setup
Shield termination is crimp, not clamp or solder-bucket. The installer needs the correct hex die for the ferrule OD that matches the cable jacket diameter. For LMR-195, the jacket is thicker than RG-58, so verify the ferrule part number in the assembly drawing.
